New on my Blog this week

BabyBLog

Well I have finally hit 15 weeks, which means I am feeling pretty fantastic! A little more cooking, a little more yoga, a little more laundry… hopefully a little more blogging. Well it turns out that we are going to move again in two weeks (what!?). So I will try to keep updates coming but if I don’t, just imagine me trying to pack my whole house for the 3rd time in three months. Anyway, here is the news:

The Workshop is going to be postponed for a bit while we get settled in the new house. I am hoping to do the workshop the first week of April with sign ups first of March. BUT it’s worth the wait, because I am getting a few local gems to put in a few incentives for those who attend the workshop! So let me know if you want to be on the contact list for when the sign ups go out.

Secondly, as a photographer of pregnant women and new moms, I hear a good deal of chatter about the people and places that made those 9+ months easier, or at least more enjoyable for my clients.  And I am SO thankful for you all! I have learned the tricks and the trials that make you amazing women. Now that I have my own bun in the oven, I am going to take some time to highlight some of these businesses on the blog, from both my own experiences as I have them, but also from what I have heard through the grapevine.  If you have suggestions on things that made your pregnancy and those early days of motherhood easier, please let me know!  Or if you are a business who is interested in being featured, send me an email and let me know what you have to offer.

Well, cheers to a new week!

Natural Beauty | Pregnancy Session

February 10, 2010 · 10:00 am

Can you believe that this session was the gorgeous mama’s first professional photo shoot? Me neither. Both of these lovelies are natural beauties and natural models! We had so much fun walking around and finding sweet photo spots together. The light was unbelievable and the air a bit chilly, but these photos just say it all…. this session literally melts my heart. I love it!

A Walk in the Harbor | Pregnancy Session Sneak Peak

February 8, 2010 · 10:00 am

This gorgeous session started out as a vision last fall. I really wanted to do a session at the harbor! When I met J it was a perfect fit. On the day of the session a sweet couple made our dreams come true and let us walk right next to the boats. Then we hit up the retaining wall to get to this amazing rock bed protecting the harbor. The tide was high and the waves were crashing over the wall! And subsequently over MY HEAD! Literally. I looked like a wet rat. Thank God my camera is still functioning! Anyway, this is our adventure…

My Sweet Valentine

February 5, 2010 · 10:00 am

I thought I would spread some Valentine’s Day inspiration your way. This is our Valentine card this year… with our first photo of our precious baby! Almost all of our family lives out of the state, so this is a great way to share with them our news in a fridge-friendly card. Valentine’s Day has long been one of my favorite holidays. If you don’t know the story behind the holiday, click here for the heart warming tale. Happy Friday!

Walking on Sunshine

February 4, 2010 · 10:00 am

I met this little one when he wasn’t even born yet! I have had the joy of following this family from pregnancy to birth and now to over one year old. He was one of the most beautiful newborns… and  now he is delightful and was making us all laugh! At the end he was getting a bit hungry and when dad brought out the pretzel box he got the greatest expression on his face (last photo). Just adorable I think.

P.S. Contest coming up in the next two weeks for a place in my workshop (more details to come)!

Wish I May, Wish I Might

February 3, 2010 · 10:00 am

I wish I had written down where this pretty letterpress baby announcement came from. It’s absolutely gorgeous! I’ll keep looking and let you know… I noticed that lately I am  using a lot of pink in my posts… I hope it is not premonitions of our baby’s gender. Obviously we will be thrilled either way, but I am not so secretly dreaming of a son!

12 Weeks and Counting… the MUST HAVES!

February 2, 2010 · 10:00 am

12weeksWEB

1. Arcona is an organic skincare line that not only works, but smells like heaven. A must have for making me feel like a goddess during my ‘me time’
2. Bellybars are an awesome pregnant snack for an  on-the-run belly filler. I always have one in my bag for those busy days (which are getting more frequent lately!)
3. Jellycat is just the best and softest stuffed animal I have ever seen. The snowleopard? Irresistible and is now waiting for baby in the nursery!
4. The day after I took the pregnancy test I finally went to Victoria Secret for a fix to my sore beauties. The Body by Victoria was so perfect I wore it out with a huge (and audible) sigh of relief… the other customers must have wondered what I was doing in the dressing room!
5. Bananas. I think I ate two a day for about three or four weeks. They are the perfect food to calm the tummy and keep up the blood sugar!
6. J.Crew basic tanks are the easiest layering piece, and I will be able to wear them for months to come! I stocked up on these babies in every color…
7. This book is a must have for those of you who want to eat healthy the natural way. Learn how to eat right for your baby and cook right for your kids!

**I also want to write a quick thank you to all my January clients… it has been the BUSIEST month of my photography career! Lots of mamas, lots of newborns and some delicious little ones. Sneak peeks from January will continue this week… with four sessions to edit in the meantime. So THANK YOU for letting me do what I love! And I look forward to those I will meet this month and beyond.
