Zach’s First Year Book

And First Year Book Template showcase!

I have been so surprised by all of your sweet comments and notes regarding the first year template book. I am happy to say that I am finally posting some more photographs of the layout for those of you who have asked. I used the same template for Zach’s first year book and I am so in love with the finished product. It is a bit bigger than Ellas (oops!) but I already find myself wanting to flip through it over and over. I added many new quotes that entice adventure and wonder for more of a boyish feel (all were added to the template files regarding Fonts and Quotes). One of my new favorite quotes is this one :

“As soon as I saw you I knew a grand adventure  was about to happen.”

- A. A. Milne Winnie the Pooh

You can find the template in the SHOP along with digital copies of my BOOK SERIES.

If you have any questions, please feel free to email me at info@megfish.com and I would be happy to answer them or help if I can.

beautiful distraction

Posts lately have been few for good reason. My little one just turned one and it’s been a season of adoration and celebration. I am enjoying this one … Special thanks to Enjoy Cupcakes for the gorgeous cake and the beautiful spread of cupcakes. Hoping to post more soon!

Something Old & Something New

As I have been working on the style book ideas and decorating the house, I have discovered a love affair with gold. White has always been a favorite… and paired with shimmering 18k metallics I think I have welcomed bliss. I couldn’t do the style book without mentioning my favorite (almost) vintage La Perla bra. It is perfect in every way…

Swapping out my must have gold Havaianas this month for a sweet and inexpensive pair of metallic flats. They are comfortable and pair with everything in my closet (P.S. closet sneak peek coming soon!). We are off to Colorado for the week anticipating cold chills and hopefully some snow!

Must haves for 2014

Happy New Year! After a relaxing, beautiful serene December (can you believe it?) this year has started out  with lots of creativity and inspiration. These are my must haves to begin 2014, I am obsessed. Obsessed. This year I am planning to focus on the next book, Style, increase my yoga practice and become a vegan chef (well maybe not officially, but expert yes). I am in the process of re-decorating the house and it is finally coming together beautifully. I will share some peeks in the coming weeks. Cheers!

End of a Season

Just before Christmas I had the pleasure of photographing Raya Carlisle’s beautiful baby girl. Raya is the crazy beautiful talent behind our family photos for the past few years, I absolutely adore her! It was so fun to spend some time with her and her sweet new gift. Here are a few from my last newborn session of the year and possible for years to come. If you haven’t read previously I have passed the baton to a sweet friend Rebecca Harrington who will be taking care of my clients in the near future. She is such a treasure and I am very thankful for her!

The new year is a great one for me, the first year I won’t officially be ‘working’ in about 16 years. I credit my amazing husband for the opportunity to spread my wings a bit and see what is next for our family. I have been decorating the house (and re-decorating the house!) trying to figure out what fits this big expanse of space. I think more emphasis on yoga and cooking will be in the works… I am looking forward to this new beginning. Happy 2014 New Year to you friends!

Simple Merry Christmas

I wanted to share with you why the blog has been so blissfully silent the past week… I have been doing a lot of searching and finding. I have been searching for more peace and calm in my life and I am learning where to find it. Family. Stillness. Counting blessings. Less Doing. More giving. This Christmas season has been one of the best yet for me. Because I finally slowed down enough to enjoy the beauty of Jesus’ coming through advent and subsequently have forgotten the stress of the to do list. It’s beautiful.

This lovely mini wreath was a gift from a friend and I immediately hung it from twine on a huge mirror above our fireplace. It is so tiny against the mirror and that’s what makes it so special. The little things are defining the big things in my life. And that is wonderful.

Merry Christmas!

Rustic Socking

My husband came home with a pack of these perfect wool socks last week. So of course I made ‘sock’ ings :) I love the primitive look… have you read the history of stockings yet? You can find it here. They have always been my favorite part of Christmas morning!
