I was at the market this week and saw a collection of tiny little perfect looking pears. Of course I had to purchase one and carry it cupped in my hand all the way home. It is about half the size of my fist. It reminds me of those beautiful still life paintings of rich colored fruit. And still life’s remind me that the holiday is a time for savoring… for waiting… for simplicity. There is one reason we celebrate Christmas and it’s time to remember it gracefully and thoughtfully – not in shopping lines and sales and worries and stress. So light a candle and be thankful. For these, the little things.

I couldn’t do the holiday magazine without my favorite and inspirational shop and blog at Besotted Brand. Lovely Miss B just had her first baby girl! I fell in love with her monogram wreath stamps for the holidays to mark packages with each person’s first initial. I just finished wrapping a few more books for Ella using her initial stamp. How fun for the kids to find the first letter of their name in their hunt under the tree?
The Besotted shop is ever lovely and full of a few new items for the holiday. Be sure to check out her beautiful blog (especially her pinterest curators.. which will leave you lost for hours). And her etsy shop is here for last minute gifts and treats. I love using her stamps and dreamy twine all year round.

I am not a candy girl, or a candy cane girl… but these beauties are just so festive and pretty. I tried my first round of white chocolate peppermint bark and am pretty sure I burned the chocolate. SO maybe I will try again before the month is over. What have you tried for the first time this year?

I wanted to share with you where I got the gorgeous wreath from the Holiday Issue. Wintersteen Farms is an amazing company that sells the best smelling, stunning holiday wreaths from their farm. I contacted Kelly in September about getting a wreath very early for the holiday magazine photo shoots. She made it work even though season doesn’t start until November! I was so thankful… and my house has smelled like pine since I opened the box. We will definitely make her wreaths a tradition every year, they are really that lovely. I hope you visit her site and get one for your own home or front door this season.

Well it’s no secret that I love to design… from books to logos to my home. I have had many ‘looks’ over the years at Meg Fish but none have stuck like this one. I feel like I have finally found the designs that will stay with me for the long run. Clean, classic, simple and white (of course). Branding is so important and yet one of the more difficult aspects of business. I think it takes a long time to figure out who you are in the business world. It has taken me 6 years!
One of my blog friends and sweet talented mama (who just had her first baby girl!) did a great blog post on successful blogging here. The part on all the work you do BEFORE the writing and posts is awesome. She is so good at explaining it from an objective source. It’s so easy to get wrapped up in fonts and colors, when what really matters is what is behind it all! It’s a great read if you are a business owner (of any kind!). Oh and she is the one behind that gorgeous twine and my beautiful logo stamp :)
