Hello lovelies! Being a successful business owner has been an incredible experience. But being a mom is infinitely more magical. I am currently taking time to do just that with our latest baby boy born in March. In the meantime, I will be posting sweet nothings and inspiration as this incredible adventure continues! xoxo Meg
Exciting news today about a project I am working on. It has taken a while to bring it about and I am ready to share (almost)! I have decided to put together of series of books this year that showcase some of my work, but most importantly share the way I see beauty in life. I will be doing 5 books total and the first one will be ready at the end of this month in the shop. I can’t wait!!
The first book in the series is dedicated to portraiture (focused on newborns and pregnancy but great tips for any photographer who likes my work). I get a lot of emails with questions about light and skin tones and design, so I decided to put together a portfolio style book with tips on everything from posing to lighting to editing… it’s not too complicated and it shares everything I would have wanted to know when I first started my business. I will share a small sample in the coming week!
The books will be press printed (and gorgeous) with photos to come soon. They will also be available in digital format for those who prefer to have the less tangible option. Although I highly recommend the book as it is in itself a piece of art. So with that, I will leave you with on of my favorite images and one that is proudly in the book MEG FISH book series (portrait).
Cheers! Meg

Just spent a few minutes updating the shop and adding these new little muslin bags. They are perfect for a set of prints, little gifts or just to store your treasures in. I love them and the balloon stamp makes them magical. Happy Wednesday!

This is how I get some creativity out these days… I am pretty sure my ‘nesting’ with baby Zach has become permanent. I have fallen in love with french antiques, beautiful bright light and a minimalistic but stunning displays of life in the home. I am going to my first Three Speckled Hens antique show next weekend and am anxious and thrilled to see what I can find. Yes I have a list to bring. I feel like I am almost starting from scratch in a good way. I want the house to be happy, which means adding a bit of color… like this delicious lemon yellow.

Just found this amazing mirror at an antique store in town and I am so in love. It’s so fun when a new item transforms a whole room. I had to show the little french raft as well… from the beautiful and talented Maria at Dreamy Whites. So I have my princess and my adventurer! Life is new these days, but we are loving it. Little time for much else besides being a mama and keeping house. A time I’m sure I will miss someday…

Posting this representing the power of inspiration. I actually took this shot due to a mix up in my lab and had to do a comparison (in color) but loved how it reminded me of beautiful Ashley Skjaveland’s work. Featured here of course is my almost 4 week old baby love no. 2. I have been drinking in beauty from wherever it can be found lately as I am home a lot with a needy babe and crazy lovely Ella. Loving film grain, texture and a pop of color lately. Exited to post my newest blog find soon … also I am finally on instagram. Still getting the hang of it, more updates there…

Not sure why but I was inspired to take this shot of our living room this morning, maybe it was little Ana Sophia posing for me on the coffee table…. anyway it was my one opportunity while toys and books were picked up and tidy to show you part of what we call home.
The sofas are pottery barn but the covers are Ikea… I love the old shipping basket full of shoes and the basket of firewood. What you don’t see is the fireplace just on the right… that is where I am most of the time!
Happy Friday!

“to give to the light.”
I want to say thank you for your prayers … as many of you know I have been so afraid of this little boy’s labor and delivery since Ella’s was so traumatic. In sharing bits and pieces it is only to encourage you that prayer is powerful. Our hope was to have a peaceful delivery and it couldn’t have been more so…
On his second due date (my estimated one, not the doctors) at around 3:30pm I was 5 min apart and we continued to just have a normal evening until around 10pm. We got in the car to drive to the hospital as contractions got stronger and we had an hour drive… once there I asked for the epidural from the most amazing nurse ever. Thank you Katrine! The anesthesiologist said it was the easiest and fastest one he had put in for a long time… we were thankful. Then we waited for it to kick in, rested and Ben read to me the passages in the Bible about the new heaven and new earth (my favorite). Soon I had gone from a 5 to an 8 and within 5 hours were ready to push. Two pushes in and he was already ready to be born… so the doctor was called and in three more he had arrived! 5:46am a beautiful, perfect, amazing little 9 lb boy was born, given to the light… truly a miracle.
We are so in love. xo
