winter sparkling

November 19, 2014

These days we are savoring each little chill amongst the heat. I found this pretty little number the other day to sparkle in at the Nutcracker along with this darling dress for my daughter. Winter whites are so calming in the chaos of the holidays. I am learning how to find the best yes in a great read and obsessing over these candles from one of my favorite stores. They literally make my house smell like Christmas. I have a stack of presents I can’t wait to wrap and a trip to Colorado to look forward to. Also, unlike the blog, I am not as quiet over here. Blessings to you all. xo

August 29, 2014

Keeping up with the energy of these two loves and trying so hard to savor each moment. Time is going quickly, the world is getting darker and all we have are these few minutes in life to love each other. August was crazy with my birthday, B’s birthday, Ella’s birthday, a baby shower for a friend… we are ready for a rest.

I have been busy learning about these, having my heart broken by her and looking forward to this.

into the wardrobe

July 25, 2014

When we first bought our house I stripped our master closet of all the built-ins. Then begged my hubby to build me a free standing clothing rack. He obliged and I am so in love with it! I have been meaning to photograph it for a while but photo shoots at home these days are rare. Three quiet hours to myself and I finally took a few photos (more to come!). And special preparations happening for a big day in August…

captured sweetly

July 21, 2014

When you are technically recently retired, sometimes a few nudges can easily get you back into it. At least for a few hours… I was thrilled to photograph this gorgeous babe and her beautiful family last week. She was so tired from eating all morning she happily let me pose with her yummy little hands. It was sweet to spend time with a  5 day old babe again. And yes I counted, ten tiny toes (I always do!). Enjoy…

the beauty of it

June 29, 2014

I was going through this beauty’s maternity session today in preparing to take a few photographs of a dear friend for her baby shower. This photo makes me fall in love all over again with Santa Barbara, the beach, being pregnant and that bliss of anticipation. It was a beautiful evening.

I am finding a balance and peace in this slower pace in life. It has taken longer than I thought to love it, but the moments where I just stare in awe and complete love at my babies are more frequent than ever before. B and I just saw the movie ‘About Time‘ and it really spoke to us especially having kids. Rent it. This is life friends.

meaningful things

June 2, 2014

When we were in Portland last week I was able to take a few yoga classes at a local studio. Yoga on vacation is divine. One of the instructors gave us this verse for our class :

“Be humble for you are made of earth. Be noble for you are made of stars.” ~ Serbian Proverb

It was such a meaningful class as she weaved its words throughout the practice. The experience has made me think of how much can change when there is such a beautiful premeditation to a class, a meeting… life. Little routines can be made lovely when we make them to be.

This song is on repeat right now. I love the whole album. Fly on friends.

Zach’s First Year Book

April 11, 2014

And First Year Book Template showcase!

I have been so surprised by all of your sweet comments and notes regarding the first year template book. I am happy to say that I am finally posting some more photographs of the layout for those of you who have asked. I used the same template for Zach’s first year book and I am so in love with the finished product. It is a bit bigger than Ellas (oops!) but I already find myself wanting to flip through it over and over. I added many new quotes that entice adventure and wonder for more of a boyish feel (all were added to the template files regarding Fonts and Quotes). One of my new favorite quotes is this one :

“As soon as I saw you I knew a grand adventure  was about to happen.”

- A. A. Milne Winnie the Pooh

You can find the template in the SHOP along with digital copies of my BOOK SERIES.

If you have any questions, please feel free to email me at and I would be happy to answer them or help if I can.
