It’s been a while and I want to update you on the beautiful happenings at Meg Fish. I took a nice long break and thought about everything that has been going on. I thought I wanted to change my style of photography, but the truth is that I needed to re-fall in love with photography. I have been working now for almost 4 years as a professional photographer and somehow have lost that incredible edge of love and light. Well I am happy to say I have found it again! I picked up my old 50mm lens, read a few educational books including the recently published book by the lovely Elizabeth Messina. You can find it here. What I am realizing is that good portraiture is partly technical and partly love of doing it. I have purged a few things and bought a few props… the new look will be exquisite!
The new website will feature newborn portraiture at a new level (I’ve been studying hard!) and for a new reason. Meg Fish is launching LoveGivesWings™, a site dedicated to raising money for Life Network which supports men and women through pregnancy and after birth. It is an amazing resource I truly believe in. I will be giving 5% of all proceeds to this cause as well as 100% off the sale of LoveGivesWings™ bracelets (coming soon!). The site will launch this week, I will do one more post directing you there.

I am excited to introduce you to a whole new Meg Fish in a few weeks… but until then I am announcing that I will be taking pregnancy and newborn clients with sessions starting in June. Please book ahead to reserve one of the spots. I am only taking a few clients per month! I look forward to meeting you and your new babies.. here is one I photographed a few weeks ago… precious one.

It is my hope that you all had an incredible Merry Christmas and that you are looking forward to a fantastic 2012 year! I am working on a few new projects, and this one has been in the works all month. Crowned Embellishments is opening up shop this evening for ready to ship items. You can find the shop here and find me on facebook here. The full new collection will release in a week or two. Some of the crowns in the shop today are new colors and others are just gorgeous. There are limited amounts of each (about 2 or 3 only), so snag them up! Crowned Embellishments will not restock these items.
Also many people have asked about the books I made for my sweet baby Ella’s first year. I used a great company called Blurb, you can find it here. They are relatively affordable and the printing quality is reasonable with some tweaking!

Introducing Crowned Embellishments by Meg Fish

I am so excited to introduce this new line for newborn and portrait photographers! These are hand made tiny crowns modeled after the early santos crowns. They are not metal so there is no weight on the tiny head and no sharp edges. Currently there are tarnished colored crowns available as well as silver, gold and cream. Each crown is part of a limited series and may not be available again!

Been busy working on two pregnancy sessions and two newborn sessions this week … will get sneak peeks soon! Just wanted to post this adorable little guy and show you a gorgeous option for your print orders in black and white. I haven’t been neglecting the blog, just working on some new things 
I won’t say yet what is coming up, but it’s going to be pretty sweet. I will be doing more sneak peeks on Facebook now, so head over if you want to stay updated! Here is a sneak peek from a session this morning… really mellow little guy and so sweet. At over 3 weeks old he was just a charmer and posed like a champ!
